The Rochester Lilac Stockings faced a tough opponent in Syracuse pitcher F. Scott, but found a way to pull out the victory at Perennial Blooming Park by a final score of 5-4 in 11 innings. Scott went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs. Rochester reliever Cristóbal García was the winner. His record is now 1-2. John Barnett took the loss. Rochester sits at 10-9.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 11th, an error by the Halites allowed the Lilac Stockings to score the winning run.
