The Superior Whalebacks topped the Marquette Smelters, 5-4, at Pig Iron Stadium. Superior first baseman René Pedroza was a spark plug for the offense. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Superior pitcher Juan Rivera earned the win, hiking his record to 2-3. Gonzalo Martínez suffered the loss. The loss drops Marquette to 13-12.

Superior used the hitting of Menendo Pérez to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Whalebacks on top, 5-3. For the game, Pérez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
