The rain came, as predicted, but the Anasco Matadioses and Manati Acropolitanos were able to complete their ballgame.

The Anasco Matadioses downed the Manati Acropolitanos, 9-8. The hitting star was shortstop Pedro Pichardo. Pichardo was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs for the Matadioses. Anasco pitcher Premislao Tijerina got the win. He's now 5-4. Gerardo Rodríguez was tagged with the loss.

Pichardo contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Anasco in the top of the ninth. With his team trailing 8-6, Pichardo took a sinker from Gerardo Rodríguez and stroked the double to left. His 1st double of the season allowed the Matadioses to leap in front, 9-8.

"You look inside of the game, it's just quality approach after quality approach," said Matadioses manager Pablo Tovar.

The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Anasco.
