The Mackinac Island Stone Skippers used a top-flight performance from Frank Miller, who is tied for 2nd in the WGLA with a 2.86 ERA, to beat the Bay City Sugar Beets, 2-1, in 11 innings. Mackinac Island, at 22-30, occupies 4th place in the Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Huron.

Miller went the distance -- and then some -- for the Stone Skippers, throwing 10 innings of 5-hit ball against the Sugar Beets, striking out 6.

"It was terrific getting this win," Miller said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
