It might have been a rain-shorted game, but Joes fans didn't seem to mind as long as their team got the win.

The Saginaw Joes beat the Mackinac Island Stone Skippers, 3-2, at Bouncy House. Keith McIntyre was 3-3 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs. The 24-year old catcher was a menace to Mackinac Island all day. Brian McAvoy got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Stone Skippers to 2 runs on 3 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 5.

McIntyre had a timely hit for Saginaw in the top of the sixth. With Saginaw trailing 2-1, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a 2-run double. It was his 14th double of the season, making it 3-2, Saginaw.

"Tip of the cap to the Joes," said Mackinac Island manager Silvio Rivera. "They played a good game."

With the win, the Joes improved to 34-25.
