Senators Cut Down Pirates, 7-2
Washington registered a win at Boundary Field by beating the Pittsburgh Pirates, 7-2. Pitcher Steve Stewart was one reason why the Senators triumphed. The 4th-place Senators improved to 26-37.

Billy Nash came through for the Senators in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Washington leading 2-1, the first baseman, who is tied for 8th in the EL in bases on balls with 23, had a run-scoring walk.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Washington manager Pony Sager. "Our pregame was pretty good."
