Uribe Stars in 14-5 Joes Win
The Saginaw Joes trumped the Alpena Partridges, 14-5, at Birds' Nest of Alpena. Saginaw shortstop Tomás Uribe was terrific. He went 4-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Pedro Olave, the winner, goes to 6-8. He allowed 5 runs on 11 hits, with 4 walks and 10 strikeouts over 9 innings. The Joes lead the Western Great Lakes Association League of Lake Huron by 2½ games.

The Joes got an important contribution from left fielder Jesús Bautista, who in the top of the second punched a first pitch changeup to left-center for a run-scoring triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Joes ahead, 2-0.

"We're playing hard," said Bautista, "and we're playing to win."
