The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
Kingston pitcher Norm Smith had a large part in his team subduing the Sarnia Roughnecks, 3-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Smith picked up the win for Kingston, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 9-11. Pedro Toribio recorded the save for Kingston, his 8th of the season.
Albert York had a direct impact on the outcome. York contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Kingston up, 3-1.
"The other side played a good game," said Sarnia manager Tricky Nichols. "You tip your cap to them."
Their 36-48 record puts the Citadels last in the Eastern Great Lakes Association Canadian Independent Baseball.
