Colonels Take Nail-Biter Over Spiders
The Louisville Colonels had to overcome a fine effort from Cleveland pitcher John Alder to win, 5-4, in 12 innings at Eclipse Park II. Alder went 11 innings and allowed 3 runs. The Colonels now have a record of 41-29 with the win over Cleveland.

In the bottom of the 12th, Frank Martin delivered the big blow for Louisville, stroking a game-winning run-scoring single off Cleveland pitcher Alan Steele.

"It was terrific getting this win," Martin said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
