Colonels Fight for 2-1 Win
|
Dennis Lamkin, who led the EL in saves with 6 in 1911, played a key role in a gritty 2-1 Louisville Colonels win in 11 innings against the Cincinnati Reds. The win puts the Colonels at 22-21, while the Reds drop to 28-19.
The Colonels got a clutch hit from second baseman Frank Martin. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Colonels.
"Some games build character," said Louisville manager Kyle Hyrkas. "Like this one."
