Spiders Earn Win with Late Rally
The Cleveland Spiders withstood an impressive performance by Cincinnati second baseman Alan Hilton to defeat the Reds, 7-6, at League Park II 1894-1901. Hilton went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. Picking up the save was 36-year old left-handed pitcher Bill Daley. The third-place Reds have lost 4 consecutive games.

Cleveland second baseman Claude Ritchey produced at a critical juncture. It happened in the top of the ninth with Barney Wolfe on the mound and Cleveland leading 6-5. Ritchey drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
