Cincinnati Resolve Tested in 3-2 Win
|
The Cincinnati Reds scored a tight, 3-2 win versus the Louisville Colonels at League Park II 1894-1901. Cincinnati pitcher Frank Harrison held his own in the contest. The Reds now have a record of 37-28 with the win over Louisville.
Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, five-time All-Star John Schmitz had a chance to be the hero. Louisville pitcher Brad Drain wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Schmitz grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Reds had themselves a thrilling win.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Reds manager Marshall Locke.
