Galanes Earn 4-2 Home Win

Ciales and Orocovis got after it at Estadio Guerrero.
Ciales pitcher Vicente Cordova did his part in helping his team beat the Orocovis Caciques, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. In 8 innings, Cordova surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Cristóbal Osorio earned save number 6 this season.
Ángel Tapia had a big run-scoring double for the Galanes in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Ciales leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Darío Madrid and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Galanes ahead, 2-0.
"Winning is seldom easy in this league," said Tapia.
Ciales, at 23-20, sits in second place in the Liga Betances Centro.
