The Rio Grande Cotorras defeated the Canovanas Chupacabras, 4-1, in Liga Betances action at Recinto Ramón Araujo. Rio Grande pitcher Tibulo Rodríguez had a standout performance. Rio Grande is now 28-15. Canovanas is 15-29.

With two out in the top of the fourth, Rafael Zepeda put Rio Grande in front, 2-0, with a 2-run single. The Cotorras went on to win the ballgame.

Afterward, Canovanas manager Daniel López said: "We were guessing wrong on pitches, and that's something we've got to get away from."
