Stoplights Come Up Short at Saginaw, 5-4
The Saginaw Joes beat the Bad Axe Stoplights, 5-4, at Old Growth Forest. Saginaw catcher Keith McIntyre had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Duarte Sánchez, the winner, improved to 16-1. He held Bad Axe to 3 runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. The first-place Joes sport a record of 46-27.

McIntyre contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Saginaw in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, McIntyre took a curveball from Inocencio Pérez and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Joes to leap in front, 4-2.

"I like our mindset right now," said Saginaw manager Miguel Chagoya.
