Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Escanaba Wanderers take on the Holland Tulips.

Getting a good performance from first baseman Gabriel Martínez, the Holland Tulips defeated the Escanaba Wanderers, 11-8. Martínez went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 for the Tulips. The Tulips now have a record of 33-41 with the win over Escanaba.

Holland used the clutch hitting of Alberto Briseño to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Tulips the lead, 10-8. For the game, Briseño had 1 single and 2 doubles in 5 at-bats.

"We put it together and came out with the win," Martínez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
