Cayey Cornupetas starter Américo Prats hurled his team past the Loiza Vejigantes, 8-1. Prats, now 2-0, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Loiza drops to 4-2.

The Vejigantes had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Cornupetas going into the top of the eighth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old second baseman Rafael Cabrera came to the plate.
