Stone Skippers Topple Sugar Beets, 7-5, as Palacios Shines
|
The Mackinac Island Stone Skippers knocked off the Bay City Sugar Beets, 7-5, at Candysweet Park. Eufemio Palacios was a big reason Mackinac Island won. The designated hitter slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The second-place Stone Skippers improved to 48-35.
Mackinac Island took a 7-5 lead on Palacios's 21st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Alan Baxter in the top of the eighth, propelled Mackinac Island to the win.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Palacios.
