Lilac Stockings Suffer Humbling Loss
The Utica Half Moons cruised to a win over the Rochester Lilac Stockings, 12-3, at Perennial Blooming Park. Roberto Cortez led the way, going 2-for-3 for Utica. The win makes Utica 49-31.

Nehemías Piñeda helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he hit a first pitch slider from Miqueas Guerrero for a run-scoring double, to give Utica a 1-0 lead.

"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said Utica skipper Martin Bate.
