The Erie Commodores topped the Meadville Zips, 7-6, in Eastern Great Lakes Association action at Erie Naval Yards. The game was highlighted by the performance of Erie pitcher Marco Tablada. The first-place Commodores bumped their record to 45-39.

Batting in the bottom of the 18th, 30-year old catcher Hormisdas Morales had a real shot to win the game. Meadville pitcher Chris Owings was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Morales hit a run-scoring single. The Commodores had a walk-off triumph.

"Winning is seldom easy in this league," said Morales.
