The Norwalk Maples and Meadville Zips provided some drama for the home crowd.

Getting offensive support from Mateo Torres, the Meadville Zips topped the Norwalk Maples, 4-3. Torres went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Zips. Modesto Chávez was the winner. Over 9 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts.

Meadville went up, 4-3, on Dagoberto Castro's 8th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Castro hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Norwalk pitcher Santiago Goní muttering to himself.
