Rose Stockings Suffer 6-2 Loss to Maples
|
Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Maples beat the Rose Stockings.
The Norwalk Maples topped the Mentor Rose Stockings, 6-2, in Eastern Great Lakes Association action at Syrup Park. The standout performance belonged to Norwalk pitcher and Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, native Eduardo Fajardo. The winner was Fajardo. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Bill Donovan.
Admeto Cuevas could have done more damage. In the top of the ninth, with Mentor trailing 6-0, Mentor had the bases loaded. That's when Cuevas grounded out, driving in 1 run. But it was not enough. Norwalk would go on to win the game.
The Maples improved to 41-46.
