Stoplights 3-2 Winners Versus Alpena
|
The Alpena Partridges got a sterling performance from pitcher Amadeo Jiménez, but the Bad Axe Stoplights still prevailed, 3-2. Jiménez threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Beany Jacobson, who is tied for 7th in the WGLA in innings pitched with 188.0, was the winner. He's now 13-10. The loser was Amadeo Jiménez. The 4th-place Stoplights now have a record of 40-49.
The win was a team effort for Bad Axe. Second Baseman Dallas Frost was among the key contributors. In the bottom of the third, he put his team in front, 3-2, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"There's a lot in this game you can't control. Just take what the game gives you. I was just doing my best to help the team win," Frost told the Bad Axe Chronicle.
