Saginaw and Mackinac Island put this game in the books despite some rain.

Good production from second baseman Luis Díaz helped the Saginaw Joes topple the Mackinac Island Stone Skippers, 15-8. Díaz went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 4 times and drove in 2 for the Joes. John Callahan snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-1 on the season. Bernard Hawkins suffered the loss.

Esteban Navarro, who is tied for 7th in the WGLA in home runs with 21, had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and a runner on 1st, the Saginaw left fielder hit a 2-run home run. That put the Joes in front, 7-6.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Díaz.

After today's action, Saginaw sits at 60-30, while Mackinac Island falls to 51-42.
