The St Catharines Chicken Chuckers got a rain-soaked win over the Kingston Citadels.

The St Catharines Chicken Chuckers trumped the Kingston Citadels, 4-3, at The Fortress. St Catharines left fielder Nicolás Rosales was terrific. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. St Catharines reliever Diego Navarro got the win, raising his record to 9-10. Mateo Martínez was tagged with the loss.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Takeichi Nakano came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Kingston pitcher Aluino Armando, he hit a 0-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting St Catharines on top, 4-3.

Rosales said his team "played with determination."

St Catharines goes to 34-56, Kingston to 45-49.
