Norwalk pitcher Diodoro Uncal did his part in helping his team defeat the Erie Commodores, 4-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Uncal got the win, improving to 1-3. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Santiago Goní locked down his 13th save.

Norwalk got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Arnulfo Minaya. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Maples ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Minaya.

The Maples move to 49-53 with the win, while the Commodores drop to 53-46.
