The Duluth Zeniths picked up a win at Edmund Fitzgerald Park, knocking off the Superior Whalebacks, 2-0, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher Gabriel Pérez played a key role in the triumph. The Zeniths improved their record to 56-46 with the win over Superior.

In his 128-pitch effort, Pérez allowed no runs on 5 hits over 10 innings. He walked 2 and struck out 7.

"Gabriel was pounding the zone," said Duluth manager Mamerto Salgado.
