Citadels Turn Back Oshawa, 5-3
|
Kingston took on Oshawa in front of a lively crowd.
Kingston second baseman Brett Bertrand helped his team beat the Oshawa Engines, 5-3. Bertrand went 1 for 2 for the Citadels. Pedro Toribio earned the save, his 3rd.
With Kingston leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Bertrand batted against Oshawa pitcher Jim Lent. Bertrand hit a fastball to left for a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Citadels on top, 3-0.
Bertrand called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."
The setback makes Oshawa 53-54.
