Zips Absorb 4-3 Loss at Erie Naval Yards
The Erie Commodores did just enough to sneak past the Meadville Zips, 4-3, at Erie Naval Yards. Erie pitcher Pol Brennan, in particular, had a standout performance. Brennan yielded 3 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 17-10. Erie currently is in first place in the Eastern Great Lakes Association League of Lake Erie at 57-49.

Erie took a 3-2 lead on Graham Blackburn's 3rd triple of the season. The bases-clearing triple, which Blackburn hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Meadville pitcher Marcelino Jaques visibly frustrated.

"When Pol is on, he can really move the ball around," said Erie manager Chris Lehmann.
