Tulips Fall to Wanderers Late
Wet weather did not postpone the Escanaba-Holland ballgame.

Good production from second baseman Raúl Arroyo helped the Escanaba Wanderers topple the Holland Tulips, 9-5. Arroyo went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Wanderers. Escanaba reliever Bartolomé Martín picked up the win to move to 4-5. Timoteo González suffered the loss.

The Wanderers got a big hit from third baseman Edward Fisher. In the bottom of the eighth, Fisher smacked a 2-run double off Holland pitcher Alejandro Rivera. It was his 33rd double of the season. Suddenly, the Wanderers were ahead, 6-5.

"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Arroyo told the Escanaba News. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."

The Wanderers are now 35-72.
