Soto Homers Twice in 13-2 Wanderers Win
The Escanaba Wanderers easily defeated the Holland Tulips, 13-2, at Roaring Dan Seavey Stadium, with second baseman Ricardo Soto a main contributor to the win. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for Escanaba. Víctor Manuel Enríquez got the win, improving to 8-13. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 5 and walking 4. The last-place Wanderers improved to 36-72.

With Escanaba leading 8-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Soto came up to bat against Holland pitcher Roberto Leal. Soto hit a fastball to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Wanderers on top, 11-1.

Of the opposition, Holland manager Fidel Cruz said: "They hit fastballs, they hit breaking balls, they hit inside fastballs, they hit outside fastballs."
