Giants Snatch Late Win
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies.
The New York Giants racked up a win at National League Park 1895-1909, bumping off the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-3, in 12 innings. Matt Adams, who started for New York, pitched effectively for his team. The loss puts Philadelphia at 15-10.
Bug Holliday came through with a big-time hit for New York. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I'll play 10 innings, I'll play 20," said Giants manager James Roseman. "Whatever it takes to win the ballgame."
