New York Wins, 3-2, Over Phillies
|
The New York Giants got a stellar effort from pitcher Tim Mitchell, helping New York score a win over the visiting Philadelphia Phillies, 3-2, in 11 innings. The Giants now have a record of 31-26 with the win over Philadelphia.
The Giants procured the win, in large part because of catcher Ted Easterly. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"It was bedlam at the end," Mitchell said.
