Wolfe Superb Against New York
|
Baltimore's Barney Wolfe brought his best stuff to Polo Grounds 1890-1910, shutting down and shutting out the New York Giants, 3-0. He racked up 4 strikeouts, surrendered 3 hits, and issued no walks on his way to the victory.
"We barely made him work at all," New York manager James Roseman said later. "Baltimore could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted."
In 12 starts this season, Wolfe has chalked up a 4-8 record and a 3.26 ERA.
