The skies opened up and the rain fell at The Traffic Jam.

The Alpena Partridges picked up a win at The Traffic Jam, taking down the Bad Axe Stoplights, 7-4. Starting pitcher Uranio Avitia was a big reason why. Avitia got the win, improving to 12-16. He gave up 7 hits and walked 0 over 9 innings. He allowed 4 runs.

In the top of the 6th, right fielder Halim bin Ishaq gave Alpena the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Partridges had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Bad Axe pitcher Sisinio Cortés changed that -- and Alpena went on to win.

"I have a really good team behind me," Avitia said. "I trust them 100 percent."

The Partridges now have a mark of 59-58.
