Duluth laid the wood on Marquette at Pig Iron Stadium.

The Duluth Zeniths bombarded the Marquette Smelters, 16-3, at Pig Iron Stadium. Leading the blitz was Niso León. He went 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for Duluth. The second-place Zeniths now sit at 58-58.

Blake Carter had a big 2-run double for the Zeniths in the top of the first inning. With Duluth leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Luis García, who is tied for 9th in the WGLA in wins with 17, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Zeniths ahead, 3-0.

Duluth manager Mamerto Salgado commended his team for "putting the hammer down."
