Compton Pops Two Homers in 8-5 Win for Saginaw
The Saginaw Joes topped the Alpena Partridges, 8-5, in Western Great Lakes Association action at Birds' Nest of Alpena. The game was highlighted by the performance of Saginaw first baseman Richard Compton. The win gives Saginaw a season record of 77-40.

Compton had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the sixth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Joes went on to win.

"This was a nice win for us," said Compton. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
