The exploits of second baseman Tomás Velásquez helped the Alpena Partridges defeat the Saginaw Joes, 7-0. Velásquez went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Partridges raised their record to 60-59.

Dustin Randolph had a big 2-run home run for the Partridges in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Alpena leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a slider from Pedro Olave, who is tied for 5th in the WGLA in wins with 17, and punished it. The result was his 10th home run of the season, which put the Partridges on top, 4-0.
