Partridges Come Back Late to Clip Joes
The Alpena Partridges beat the Saginaw Joes, 5-4. Alpena pitcher and Ponce, Puerto Rico, native Amadeo Jiménez led the way. Jiménez, now 15-11, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 12, walking 2, and allowing 4 runs. The third-place Partridges are now 61-59, the Joes 77-42.

Alpena got a knockout punch from Álvaro Acevedo. The pinch hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Acevedo told reporters after the game.
