Bay City first baseman Chris Kaiser was sensational. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Alpena beat the Sugar Beets, 8-3. Alpena starter Uranio Avitia was credited with the win after throwing 130 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 13-16. With the victory, the Partridges record stands at 62-59.

Joe Cassidy had a big 3-run home run for the Partridges in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Alpena leading 4-3 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a changeup from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Édgar Martínez and punished it. The result was his 10th home run of the season, which put the Partridges on top, 7-3.

"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Cassidy told the Alpena Gazette.
