Oshawa Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
|
The Oshawa Engines extended their losing streak with a defeat by the St Catharines Chicken Chuckers.
St Catharines Chicken Chuckers starter Jean Doucet pitched a strong game against the Oshawa Engines at Slammers Park, leading the Chicken Chuckers to victory, 8-4. The third-place Engines have lost 8 consecutive games.
St Catharines used a well-timed hit by Bryan Goodyear to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Chicken Chuckers ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it was important.
"I'm happy we won," said Doucet. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
