1910 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Bay City Sugar Beets.

Bad Axe pitcher Beany Jacobson did his part in helping his team beat the Bay City Sugar Beets, 7-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. In 9 innings, Jacobson surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. He allowed 3 runs.

Bad Axe used the timely hitting of Steve Kruse to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Stoplights on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Jacobson told the Bad Axe Times.
