Rapids Defeated, 5-4, After Duluth Rallies
The 5-4 Duluth win over Sault St. Marie was due largely to Luis Chávez. The Zeniths catcher was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Menendo Terán was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 15 save opportunities. With the win, Duluth goes to 68-60, while the Rapids fall to 44-81.

Duluth took a 5-4 lead on Agapito González's 20th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which González hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Sault St. Marie pitcher Telamón Torres visibly frustrated.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Chávez told the Duluth Today.
