Darío Domínguez of the Mentor Rose Stockings shut out the Norwalk Maples, 6-0, at Syrup Park, holding them to 7 hits with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.

Pressed for comments on his club's defeat, Norwalk skipper Igor Santiago called the outing from Domínguez "a jewel."

"The way Domínguez was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him," he said.
