Soggy conditions did not keep Holland and Escanaba from playing their scheduled game.

Escanaba got a terrific game from second baseman Ricardo Soto. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Holland, 10-4. Soto was 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The winner was Alejandro Rivera, who threw 140 pitches over 9 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits.

Holland used the clutch hitting of Chris Clements to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tulips ahead, 9-4. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
