Guardiamarinas Win 2-1 Walk-Off

The Barceloneta Guardiamarinas earned a close win over the Dorado Defensores, thanks in part to Weiner Mann. The Barceloneta right-hander, who is rated as the 12th best prospect by BNN, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Mann, now 4-10, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Barceloneta now sports a record of 29-41.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 1-1, 19-year old third baseman Pablo Rodríguez won it for Barceloneta. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Rodríguez hit a full count fastball from Olivier Schwartz for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 2-1 win.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Mann said.
