The Las Piedras Menestrales topped the Bayamon Lecheros, 7-1, in Liga Hostos action at Coliseo Jorge Olivares. The game was highlighted by the performance of Las Piedras pitcher Viriato Rodríguez. The winning pitcher was Rodríguez, now 6-1. He tossed 8.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. The Menestrales now have a record of 31-19.
The Menestrales got a big at-bat from left fielder Eumeo Esquer. For the game, Esquer went 2-3 with 2 triples, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 3rd triple of the season gave Las Piedras a 2-0 lead.
