Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Penuelas Guiristas take on the Hormigueros Romeros.

Hormigueros Romeros starter Ricardo Elías turned in a top-notch performance against the Penuelas Guiristas at Coliseo Armando Vargas. The result was a win for the Romeros, 10-2. Hormigueros is now 22-25, while Penuelas is 29-20.

Hormigueros used a well-timed hit by Jesús Osorio to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Romeros ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"What a debacle," groaned Penuelas manager Dane Fawcett in postgame remarks.
