Cervantes Lifts Mercaderes to 10-1 Win
Villalba and Quebradillas got after it at Estadio Hernán Ríos.

Good production from first baseman Medardo Cervantes helped the Villalba Mercaderes topple the Quebradillas Corsarios, 10-1. Cervantes went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Mercaderes. The third-place Mercaderes have a record of 23-28.

Cervantes had a key at-bat for Villalba in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and gave Villalba an early 2-0 lead.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Cervantes.
