Defensores 4-3 Winners Over Bayamon
|
Despite the rain, the fans at Parquecito de Dorado enjoyed a good ballgame.
The Dorado Defensores topped the Bayamon Herradones, 4-3, in Liga Mariana Bracetti action at Parquecito de Dorado. The game was highlighted by the performance of Dorado pitcher Brenden Bailey. Bailey, now 10-7, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 4, and allowing 3 runs. Olivier Schwartz, credited with the save, is now 12 for 14 in save opportunities.
Sócrates Ortiz went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI for Dorado. The 20-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring single off Kieran Graham. It was his 60th hit of the season.
"Brenden is a gamer," said Dorado manager Sarpedón Portillo.
Today's win puts Dorado at 43-52, while Bayamon falls to 39-56.
